I'm Diane Burton. I grew up in the Detroit-area and have lived in Farmington Hills and Portage (Michigan), Sedalia (Missouri) as well as a brief stint in Chicago-land. I've been a Parks & Recreation supervisor, an inventory clerk for a flute store, and a long-time volunteer for Girl Scouts. My last job was for an oil and gas exploration company where I discovered the cure for insomnia—reading oil and gas leases. My longest-running gig was as a teacher where I taught elementary and middle school for over 10 years. I met my own hero on a blind date. It was love at first sight--for me. It took him a little longer. We currently reside in West Michigan, close to our two grown children and five grandchildren.
I am a member of Romance Writers of America and several chapters: Mid-Michigan RWA; Fantasy, Futuristic & Paranormal RWA; and Kiss of Death. I'm also a member of Sister in Crime (SinC). I am the author of the Switched series about twins exchanging places--from Earth to a starship and the reverse; the Outer Rim series, about strong women on the frontier of space. I also write romantic suspense, One Red Shoe and Numbers Never Lie plus the Alex O’Hara mysteries. I'm a contributor to two anthologies, How I Met My Husband, and Portals (Volume 2), a gateway to the world of science fiction romance.
New: My first Middle Grade fiction book, RESCUING MARA'S FATHER, A Science Fiction Adventure, writing as D.M. Burton is available in digital and print formats.
I'm a regular contributor to the Paranormal Romantics blog on the 1st of each month. On the 1st Wednesday of each month, I join the Insecure Writers Support Group on my own blog, In my spare time LOL, I read, binge-watch old TV shows and movies, and play with the grandkiddies.
